Season 8

Two very different women, one a smart prosecutor, the other a tough police lieutenant, must join forces to solve complex crimes. Despite their opposing temperaments, they lead dynamic investigations together while remaining always sexy and fun.

This season 8 presente a new heroine, with Noémie Elbaz taking over after Aylin Prandi’s part as tough-as-nails lieutenant Emilie Janson, new partner of prosecutor Elizabeth Brochène (Natacha Amal).

In 2006, the once successful show faced a 7th season with its lowest ratings and needed a fresh take. I was brought aboard  to modernize the series.

I introduced a new format, following the wave of 90 minutes shows being converted in 1 hour shows, in the wake of the hugely successful R.I.S. SCIENTIFIC POLICE that I initiated the previous year for TF1, and cast a new, younger female cop.

This pilot “The Girl of the Air” of the new “series formula” contains spectacular action scenes. With a new actress, a  new format and a new creative team at the helm, the show was a major hit and the series was renewed for 3 more seasons.

Currently entering its 8th season with a renewed cast, R.I.S. SCIENTIFIC POLICE is one of France’s leading channel, TF1, most perennial brands.

R.I.S. : Scientific Investigation and Research is an invented name that does not match any existing police force. However, if the series takes some liberties with the internal organization of police work, it sticks as closely as possible to the actual field surveys, latest techniques and laboratory tests used by real S.I.D. police officers in France.

This first season of R.I.S. introduced in France the concept of series in 52 minutes. Historic success with the audience of 11 millions spectators in prime time on TF1.
